Justice Shahbaz Rizvi of the Lahore High Court heard the bail application of the accused, Usman. During the proceedings, Advocate Adnan Kalyar appeared on behalf of the petitioner.
The petitioner’s counsel informed the court that the friendship between the boy and the girl began through the popular online game PUBG and later culminated in a love marriage. He contended that the girl’s parents, unhappy with the marriage, subsequently lodged an abduction case against the accused.
The lawyer further argued that the girl’s parents allegedly pressured her into recording a statement against her husband. He maintained that the allegations of abduction and rape incorporated in the FIR were false, fabricated, and without any legal basis.
Counsel for the petitioner also submitted that the accused has been incarcerated for the past five months and requested the court to grant him post-arrest bail.
After hearing the preliminary arguments, the court issued notices to the police authorities and directed them to submit a detailed reply at the next hearing. Further proceedings in the matter were adjourned until a later date.
