According to the spokesperson for Lahore Police, cases have also been registered at multiple police stations against those involved in setting up unauthorized cattle markets in different parts of the city.
Capital City Police Officer Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana said a comprehensive security plan was being implemented to prevent theft of sacrificial animals and protect traders and citizens. He said foolproof security arrangements had been made at cattle markets established in the provincial capital.
The CCPO directed police officers to take strict action against swindlers involved in defrauding traders and citizens through fake currency. He also ordered enhanced surveillance of pickpockets, fraudsters and suspicious individuals active in cattle markets.
Bilal Kamyana further directed officials to ensure proper parking arrangements around cattle markets and maintain smooth traffic flow in surrounding areas. He said Dolphin Squad and Police Response Unit (PRU) teams had been instructed to carry out effective patrolling to safeguard traders and the citizens.
The CCPO said legal action would be taken against elements involved in the theft of sacrificial animals. He urged citizens to shop without fear, adding that Lahore Police remained on high alert round the clock.
