Large quantity of explosives for sabotage in Rawalpindi, Islamabad recovered

CTD, another agency arrest facilitator of suicide attack on Shuja Khanzada

Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab and another agency, in a joint operation, have recovered a large number of explosives that were being carried for sabotage in Rawalpindi and Islamabad from the facilitator of a suicide attack on former interior minister Punjab colonel (retd) Shuja Khanzada in a joint operation at Kalar Saidan Road Rawalpindi.

According to the CTD spokesman, the accused Abdullah Khan Dhadyal was a resident of the Mirpur Azad Kashmir district and a large number of explosives have been recovered from the possession of the accused. It is also claimed that the accused was allegedly carrying explosives to Rawalpindi and Islamabad for sabotage.

CTD spokesman also said that the accused belonged to the banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi and the banned TTP while he received training from Afghanistan. It was also told that the accused was also the head of Madrasa Ibrahimia Siakh and had arranged the residence several times of Hamza and Qari Sohail who were involved in the suicide attack on former Punjab Home Minister Shuja Khanzada.

Qari Sohail the mastermind of the attack on Shuja Khanzada was currently in Afghanistan. The accused also sheltered Qaiser Mustafa alias Captain Nauman. The spokesman further said that the accused’s brother-in-law Masood-ul-Haq Siakhwi and brother-in-law Ibrahim Siakhwi were also proclaimed offenders and both were currently living abroad.

Former Punjab Home Minister Colonel (retd) Shuja Khanzada was martyred in a suicide attack on his dera in Shadi Khan Village of Attock on August 16, 2015.
