Imran’s march aimed at making army chief appointment controversial, says Foreign Minister

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that it was the last chance for President Alvi as he will have to face the consequences upon his test of whether he will support Imran Khan or the constitution.

He said that Imran Khan should stop the drama over the appointment of the Army Chief.

He said that hopefully this time everything will run according to the constitution and law. He also stated that decisions regarding national security and terrorism need to be reviewed.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad Bilawal said that the appointment of the Army Chief was an important decision and that after the appointment politics of many people like Imran Khan will end. He also demanded that Imran Khan should postpone his Long March until the appointment of the Army Chief.

In response to a question about the President Bilawal said that President Arif Alvi had been tested earlier as well at the time of no-confidence when he had tried to dissolve the Assembly by doing unconstitutional work.

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that the country had suffered due to the selection of Imran Khan. He said that the people had to bear the prime minister imposed the form of Imran Khan as he the prime minister had damaged the country and its foreign policy.

The foreign minister said that the history of Pakistan was before everyone. He said that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has fought for democracy. He also said that the history of democracy in the country might be new for Imran Khan but PPP has given its blood for democracy.

The foreign minister said that Imran Khan’s long march has no democratic purpose as the country’s institutions did not want to play a controversial role like in the past. Bilawal Bhutto further said that there were economic difficulties all over the world due to Corona and the world economy has been damaged due to the Russia-Ukraine war.
