At least eight Israeli soldiers were injured during a military clash with Hezbollah near the border between Lebanon and Israel, according to reports. Among the wounded is reportedly the son of Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich.

Reports indicate that Smotrich’s son was among the soldiers injured in clashes that erupted close to the Lebanese frontier. The Israeli military confirmed that the attack carried out by Hezbollah resulted in eight Israeli soldiers being wounded, five of whom are said to be in critical condition.

According to Israeli officials, around 70 rockets were fired from southern Lebanon toward Israeli territory during the confrontation. The rocket barrage caused injuries among Israeli troops stationed near the border, and the wounded soldiers were transported to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.

Meanwhile, tensions have intensified in the Lebanese capital Beirut, where Israeli airstrikes on the southern suburbs have significantly escalated. Reports suggest that more than 15 fresh air raids were carried out in the area.

Israeli fighter jets reportedly targeted several neighborhoods in Beirut’s southern suburbs, particularly the district of Dahieh, which is widely regarded as a stronghold of Hezbollah. The explosions were so powerful that loud blasts were heard across multiple parts of the capital, raising fears of further escalation in the region.

Since the start of the latest phase of hostilities, Israeli strikes across Lebanon have reportedly resulted in the deaths of at least 217 people, while approximately 798 others have been injured.

The continued exchanges of fire between Hezbollah and Israel have heightened regional tensions and increased concerns about the possibility of a broader conflict in the Middle East.
