‘Let that sink in’: Elon Musk enters Twitter headquarters

Billionaire Elon Musk has said that he visited Twitter Inc.’s headquarters in San Francisco before a court-ordered deadline to complete his $44 billion acquisition of the social media network.

On Wednesday, Musk shared a video of himself entering the Twitter headquarters while holding a sink in his hands, with the caption, “Entering Twitter HQ let it sink in!”

He had updated his profile’s bio to write “Chief Twit” hours before, giving the impression that he was the company’s senior executive.

Twitter initially resisted the deal and later sued the richest man in the world after he announced plans to abandon the offer due to concerns about spam accounts on the platform. This dramatic back-and-forth has lasted six months since Musk announced his $54.20 per share bid.

Musk called for the termination of Twitter’s lawsuit earlier this month when he suggested moving through with his original $44 billion offer.

According to Reuters, CEO Tesla informed co-investors who agreed to help fund the Twitter transaction that he hopes to conclude it by Friday.

Sequoia Capital, Binance, Qatar Investment Authority, and other equity investors have received the necessary papers from Musk’s attorneys for the finance promise.

Twitter shares were up around 1.1%, at $53.91 in extended trading just below Musk’s bid.
