LHC dismisses contempt of court proceedings against Maryam Nawaz

The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday dismissed a petition seeking contempt of court proceedings against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz.

Earlier, Petition was filed in the Lahore High Court (LHC) seeking contempt of court proceedings against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief organizer Maryam Nawaz for her speech in Sargodah.

It had been said in the petition that Maryam Nawaz talked about parliamentary democracy and that she should not have talked carelessly about the judiciary and that her choice of words was “not suitable”.

Later, Justice Shujaat Ali Khan of the Lahore High Court dismissed the petitions against Maryam Nawaz as non-maintainable.
