LHC orders to close markets and restaurants at 10 pm

Lahore high court has ordered to close of markets and restaurants in Lahore at 10 pm due to the smog situation in the city.

Lahore High Court Justice Shahid Karim heard the petitions filed by Haroon Farooq and others regarding smog remediation.

During the hearing, the court ordered the closure of markets and restaurants at 10 pm.

Court also ordered the closure of schools on Friday with notice that any functional school on Friday will be sealed.

The court in its order said that the education department should strictly implement the court decision.

The court gave relief of one hour on the closing of restaurants on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and ordered that on these three days restaurants should be closed at 11 pm.

LHC also ordered that markets should not be closed at 10 pm on Sunday.

The court further stated that these orders’ implementation would be monitored.
