LHC rejects Fawad’s request to stop operation in Zaman Park

PTI legal team suggested consultation with Islamabad High Court on matter

Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Ameer Bhatti on Wednesday rejected Fawad Chaudry’s request to stop the operation of Islamabad and Lahore Police in Zaman Park.

PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry and Imran Khan’s legal team appeared before the Lahore High Court during which Fawad Chaudhry told the court that the PTI was being mistreated.

On this, Chief Justice Amir Bhatti asked that how the court could proceed without a petition. To which Lawyer Azhar Siddique said that they were preparing the petition.

Fawad Chaudhry requested the court to order to stop the operation by summoning the CCPO, on which the judge said that an order without a petition could not be issued.

When the court asked about the date of issue of the non-bailable warrants, advocate Azhar Siddique said that they were issued the day before yesterday. To which Court replied, “It is a matter of Islamabad, you should go there.”

Fawad Chaudhry then argued, “It is a matter of people’s lives, we are filing a petition in half an hour.”

Judge Ameer Bhatti said, “Why should I issue such an order, the case will be handled according to the system and rules, the turmoil was going on since night, so you should have brought the petition at 8:30 am.”

On this, the lawyer said that they tried to get Imran Khan’s signature but could not do it, to which the court responded that his signature was not needed and someone else could sign.
