The global online community has been abuzz with discussions about Lil Tay, a 14-year-old American rapper, whose supposed ‘death’ sent shockwaves across social media platforms. However, it’s important to clarify that the reports of her passing are unfounded.

Lil Tay, whose birth name is Tay Tian, recently revealed to TMZ that she has fallen victim to a fabricated death hoax and a malicious hack of her social media accounts. The incident revolved around a now-deleted post on her official Instagram account that falsely claimed both she and her brother had tragically passed away. This post also inaccurately introduced her as Claire Hope.

In an official statement shared with TMZ by her family, Lil Tay expressed her distress and clarified the situation: “I want to emphasize that my brother and I are safe and alive. Nonetheless, I’m grappling with immense heartache and struggling to articulate my emotions. The past 24 hours have been incredibly traumatic. Throughout the entirety of yesterday, I was inundated with a barrage of sorrowful phone calls from concerned loved ones, all while attempting to unravel this bewildering situation.”

She explained that her Instagram account had been compromised by an unauthorized third party, who exploited it to disseminate false and unsettling information about her. These rumors even extended to getting her name wrong, as her actual legal name is Tay Tian, not ‘Claire Hope’.

The deleted post in question did not provide any information about the alleged cause of her ‘death’, raising doubts about its credibility. The skepticism grew stronger when various media outlets reached out to her father, who did not confirm the reported demise of the young rapper.

Lil Tay catapulted into viral fame as a nine-year-old social media influencer, branding herself as the “youngest flexer of the century.” She became renowned for her Instagram videos, showcasing an extravagant lifestyle. However, her last Instagram post dates back to 2018.

It is crucial to recognize that while Lil Tay’s name has resurfaced due to these rumors, she is very much alive and her identity remains intact despite the unfortunate and false death hoax that temporarily engulfed the internet.
