An army officer and a soldier embraced martyrdom during an exchange of fire with terrorists on late Monday in the Angoor Adda area of South Waziristan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Tuesday.
According to the military’s media wing, Major Shujaat Hussain, 30, resident of Toba Tek Singh and soldier Imran Khan, 27, resident of Naseerabad, embraced martyrdom after fighting gallantly. It said that terrorists were killed in the shootout, adding that weapons and ammunition were also recovered. The terrorists were involved in attacks on security forces, the ISPR said. “Area clearance is being carried out to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area.”
“The Pakistan Army is determined to eliminate terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave officers and soldiers further strengthen our resolve,” it added.
