Maria B apologizes for shooting photos in cemetery

Pakistan’s leading fashion designer Maria B has deleted the post of a photo shoot in the Bahawalpur graveyard from Instagram and has also apologized and clarified the matter.

When Maria b released the pictures of her brand new collection, a man from the nawab Abbasi family, the ruler of Bahawalpur, shared a screenshot of the photo shoot which went viral.

Genghis Khan, grandson of Sahibzada Muhammad Daud Khan Abbasi and son of the last Nawab, shared pictures of the photo shoot by Maria B’s brand on his Instagram account and wrote, “This is the cover of his grandfather’s grave on which Maria B’s model is dancing.”

On the other hand, designer Maria B shared an apology on her verified Instagram page.

“The recent photo shoot of our brand was planned and shot by a production house to bring our rich cultural heritage in Bahawalpur to the world.

“We were not aware of the importance and sanctity of the site,” the statement said.

“We are thankful to those who pointed out our mistake, we have taken immediate action by removing all the material,” he added.

“We sincerely apologize to all those who have suffered because of us in this unfortunate incident,” the statement said.
