The protest being held by the medical students of various colleges of Balochistan enters the nineteenth day today on Monday.

The students have been protesting outside Quetta Press Club in extremely cold weather and are yet to be approached by the government for the resolution of their issue. They have requested the chief justice of Balochistan High Court to get their issue resolved. The students claimed the special test is only announced for three medical colleges – Makran Medical College, Jhalawan Medical College and Loralai Medical College – of Balochistan, which is injustice with the “most deprived province”.

It should be noted that Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) has asked the students [of all batches] of the abovementioned medical colleges to take a special test for getting themselves and their colleges officially registered with it. Taking such a test is not in the PMC Act. The students have already cleared the medical admission test prior to their admissions in the respective colleges by recognized state institutions.

The medical students have vowed to continue their protest until their constitutional demands are considered and PMC cancels its re-announced special test.
