Meet you in Islamabad on May 25: Imran Khan

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has announced that his party would begin its long march towards Islamabad on May 25.

Speaking to media in Peshawar, the PTI chairman said that the decision came as a result of the core committee’s meeting on Sunday.

The PTI chairman reiterated his allegation of a foreign conspiracy against his government wherein ‘locals were used for regime change’.

The PTI chairman then spoke about the date of the march and said that the party would arrive in Islamabad on May 25 on Srinagar Highway.

“On the 25th, I will meet you in Islamabad on the Srinagar Highway,” Khan told his supporters, adding that this was jihad and not politics.

He further implied that the march may turn into a sit-in by saying that no matter how long they had to remain in Islamabad, they would remain.

He also apprised the media personnel about the demands of the march, which would be an early election date and the dissolution of the assemblies.

Imran Khan emphasised that the party would remain peaceful and called on women and children to partake in “Pakistan’s battle for real freedom”.

He also spoke about the ‘military establishment’ and said that they should remain neutral.

Meanwhile, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said on Sunday that if the PTI protestors were intending to march towards Islamabad to “cause anarchy”, they would face action.

He added that the final decision about this would be made jointly by the partners of the coalition government.
