Mehwish Hayat thanks team and fans of Ms. Marvel for getting the best out of her

Mehwish Hayat, who made her Hollywood debut in Ms. Marvel, thanked her team and fans for all the support for her character Aisha that she had been receiving from everywhere. She also thanked her costar Fawad Khan who played Hassan in Ms. Marvel for bringing the best out of her.

In a long post to the Ms. Marvel team, Mehwish stated, “I am absolutely touched by the love I am getting for ‘Aisha’ from throughout the world. But it took true teamwork to bring a project like Ms. Marvel to the big screen.”

She continued by expressing gratitude to her director Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy for her flawless storytelling and meticulous attention to every last detail in bringing Pakistan to western audiences for the first time.

Mehwish said that Sharmeen Obaid captured the partition, a crucial period in our history, with authenticity and utmost precision. Our Director of Photography, Jules Oloughlin, illuminated each and every frame with such care that they all appear to be works of art.

She also said that Sana Amanat is the one who first came up with the concept of a Muslim superhero and spent a significant amount of the last several years bringing it from the pages of comic books to the big screen. I have nothing but respect for her.

She said, “I admire her tenacity and perseverance because I am all too familiar with the struggles of having side ventures approved. Your efforts have paid off, and thanks to Ms. Marvel, all girls not just those who are brown or Muslim can now look for and recognize the superhero within. Thank you for letting me be part of this.”

Mehwish Hayat also then thanked her co-star Nimra Bucha and said, “Sister you were brilliant as Najma.”
