A man shot dead his mother, brother, wife, and niece in the Dargai area of Malakand district, police said on Wednesday.
Police added that the accused was mentally unstable. Fateh Ali, a retired FC official in the Dargai area, picked up a gun and opened fire in the house due to a minor altercation, killing his brother Naik Ali Khan, mother, wife, and niece.
Locals shifted the four bodies to Dargai Hospital while the accused managed to escape. Police said that the mentally unstable accused went into hiding in nearby hills after the incident. Raid teams have launched a search operation for his arrest. An FIR has been registered against the accused at Dargai police station.
