Meta resolves whatsApp messaging disruption: Service restored after global outage

Meta Platforms has resolved the WhatsApp messaging disruption that occurred on Wednesday, according to Downdetector.com, a website that tracks outages. After thousands of users globally reported problems accessing the messaging app, the company restored connectivity. The Whatsapp Twitter account also confirmed the resolution with a tweet that said, “We’re back, happy chatting!”

Earlier, Meta had acknowledged the disruptions, stating that they were experiencing issues with receiving incoming messages and message delivery on WhatsApp, as indicated on their status dashboard.

During the disruption, Downdetector recorded over 37,000 incidents of users in the United States reporting problems with the messaging service. Similarly, in the United Kingdom, more than 177,000 users reported issues, and in India, nearly 15,000 users faced trouble while using the messaging app.
