Misunderstandings with MWM cleared, says Imran Khan

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan declared on Saturday that all issues with the Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) had been resolved. He also said that the party had reiterated its commitment to the PTI’s “fight for Haqeeqi Azadi.”

The former premier said on Twitter that he had a meeting with the MWM delegation’s head, Allama Raja Nasir, on Friday.

Imran continued by assuring the MWM members that he will tackle any issues the party could encounter in Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

The two-party leaders’ meeting comes after MWM declared earlier this week that it will not support CM Punjab Pervaiz Elahi in a vote of confidence.

The MWM Political Council said in a statement issued by the party that it chose it after consulting with the party’s leadership.

Governor Balighur Rehman asked Elahi to hold a vote of confidence two days before the Punjab Assembly was scheduled to be dissolved on December 23, 2022, as Imran had announced.

Speaker Sibtain Khan, however, interjected and said that it was impossible because the Punjab Assembly was in session, and convening a new one would be against the law.
