Moonis Elahi threatened opposition if Pervez not made CM: Rana Sanaullah

Rana Sana Ullah says Elahi knew about no-trust motion

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Rana Sanaullah has said that Pervaiz Elahi knew about the no-trust motion against Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and that Federal Water Resources Minister Moonis Elahi threatened opposition that if Elahi wasn’t made CM, they would not remain silent.

While speaking to media on Tuesday, “We submitted the no-confidence motion because Pervaiz Elahi’s said so and PML-Q knew about this move,” he said.

He also claimed that they had all the numbers to oust the prime minister without the dissidents. He also revealed that Moonis Elahi asked that Pervaiz Elahi be made chief minister, otherwise they wouldn’t remain silent.

“We will get a vote from Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s house also. We have all the numbers to topple the government, they are left with just six days,” said the leader.

On Monday, the ruling PTI declared Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi as its candidate for the seat of chief minister of Punjab after the opposition submitted a no-trust motion against Buzdar.

On the other hand, the Pakistan people’s party has said that they did not have any contact with PML-Q. According to media reports, no one met the Chaudhrys after PTI announced the seat of chief minister for Elahi.

Meanwhile, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will do a presser at 3:00pm on Tuesday to clear the stance on the allies.
