Music maestro Ustad Tasadduq Ali Khan remembered

It was on March 11 of this year that classical singer, musicologist and a scholar in the field, Ustad Tasadduq Ali Khan, was remembered, with an honourary event held in his memory at Alhamra Arts Council, Lahore.

The evening was named ‘Tahngaa’n Wale Nain Kado’n Sukh Naal Soan Ge’ and presided over by notable singer Ustad Ghulam Ali Khan. The guests who made it to the event also included some important names such as Ustad Badar uz Zaman, Mujahid Hussain, ‘Pride of Performance’ recipient singer Mujahid Hussain, Ustad Pervez Paras, singer Tarannum Naz, singer Humaira Channa, singer Anwar Rafi, Radio Pakistan – Lahore Program Manager Muhammad Saleem Bazmi, singer Basharat Ali, singer Zafar Ali, classical singer Malik Nadeem Riaz, flute player Nawaz Muhammad Haneef, poet Mushtaq Shifai, poet and professor doctor Saadat Saqib, Shazia Shabbir, Aijaz Saagar, Saadat Ali Khan and Sarwat Ali Khan.

The evening comprised of various symphonies composed by Ustad Tasadduq Ali Khan, with singers giving vocals to those symphonies to pay a rich tribute to the musician. Apart from this, some significant attendants, who had also remained friends with Ustad Tasadduq Ali Khan, came forward to share their experiences of work as well as of friendship with the late singer. Both of Ustad Tasadduq Ali Khan’s sons, Saadat Ali Khan and Sarwat Ali Khan, had organized this event which reminded the audience of some famous numbers by the musician such as ‘Goriye Mein Jaana Pardes’, ‘Jaa Ve Pardesiya’, ‘Saada Dil Tor Ke’, ‘Hans Ke Bola Karo Bulaya Karo’ and ‘Kis Tarha Ayega Qarar Mujhe’ to name only a few.
