Musk takes U-turn on new update

New twitter label killed hours after launch

Twitter’s new Chief Executive Elon Musk takes a U-turn on a new update just hours after its launch.

Twitter on Wednesday unveiled a new double blue tick feature.

The new feature had two verification checks one was right next to the user name while the other one was displayed as official.

The second one showed up on specific profiles and timelines.

A tweeter twitted about the new update stating that it shows you’re a Twitter blue subscriber.

In response to this Musk tweeted “I just killed it.”

Musk further tweeted that twitter will do lots of dumb things in the coming months. We will keep what works & change what doesn’t.

There had been questions raised about whether public personalities or media organizations would pay for the blue tick after musk decided on a fee for it.

However, Observers considered the official grey tag to be a solution to that issue.

The abrupt change of heart will draw even more attention to Musk’s ambitions for Twitter as it’s been only a week since he fired thousands of employees and saw a sharp decline in advertising spending as a result of advertisers’ concerns about the site’s destiny.

The $7.99 subscription idea for a blue tick is said to be a way to overcome the loss in advertisers since Musk took over the company.
