Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif accused former army chief Qamar Javed Bajwa and former spymaster Gen Faiz Hamid of Pakistan’s problems.

PML-N supreme leader Nawaz Sharif spoke out for the first time after his party suffered a significant political setback in Punjab as a result of Parvez Elahi’s victory in a vote of confidence just before the provincial assembly was dissolved, declaring that “a cruel joke had been played on Pakistan… for the sake of personal gains.”

After speaking with a group of prominent PML-N figures from Pakistan, he told reporters, “We all discussed the situation in Pakistan. Pakistan will emerge from this challenging circumstance, and we will be the ones to do so.

He responded, “The reality is before everyone,” when asked if he held retired Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa and former spymaster Gen Faiz Hamid accountable for the situation of the nation.

“No face or name is hidden. The use of Pakistan was for private advantage. It was a cruel joke on the people.”

“In my Gujranwala jalsa, I identified the culprits and laid everything bare. I must expose the injustices done to the populace to the nation, and I also must put things right.”

He also questioned who was in charge of the “two governments” in the country and went on to accuse Gen. Bajwa and Faiz Hamid of being responsible for everything.

His comments came after he and his daughter, Maryam Nawaz, met with party leaders at the highest level to deliberate strategy as the likelihood of elections in two provinces looms.

The meeting happened at a time when domestic political activity was at an all-time high due to the dissolution of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assemblies and Nawaz’s impending return to Pakistan.
