Nawaz Sharif was disappointed by absence of elections in April, says Salik Hussain

PML-Q leaders, CM Punjab travelled together for meetings with establishment for secret discussions, PML-Q leader

Nawaz Sharif, the leader of the PML-N, was dissatisfied that polls were not held in April, according to Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) MNA Chaudhry Salik Hussain.

Nawaz Sharif was in favour of early elections but he only wanted to make a few significant changes, Salik Hussain said. Speaking to a TV channel he acknowledged that specific Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) coalition parties opposed holding early elections.

He said that PML-Q leaders and CM Punjab used to travel together when they had meetings with the establishment. Salik disputed the possibility that the two leaders were holding secret discussions. In politics, he claimed, individuals switch sides but until they form an alliance with PTI they will not come together.

A significant message from Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, president of the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid was earlier delivered to Nawaz Sharif. After the meeting, Chaudhry Salik told reporters that he had asked the PML-N leader to go back to Pakistan. He said the former prime minister had not provided a concrete return date.
