Mohammed Bin Salman (MBS), the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, has stated that Miami, a US coastal city, will encounter opposition from Neom in terms of entertainment, culture, sports, and retail.
The Crown Prince revealed the key components of The LINE project within Neom, the first smart city of its sort in the world without roads, cars, or pollution, in a documentary that was aired on Discovery Channel on Monday.
The Crown Prince explained the purpose of Neom, stating that it aims to develop the new civilization of the future and inspire other countries to continue taking similar actions for the welfare of the globe.
Saudi Arabia is developing a novel approach to urban planning and a novel way of life. The Saudi people have great hopes for this project because it would help them fulfil future demand, he said.
THE LINE, which promises to revolutionize urban living, is regarded as the largest infrastructure project in history. He predicted that the population of the country will double from 33 million to 50–55 million by the year 2030.
By then, the population will have grown to the point where it can use the Kingdom’s current infrastructure to its maximum potential. We need to build a new city, thus this creates an essential question, he stated.
Except for one designer who took the idea and said to make the circle into a straight line, all of them gave us city models that are consistent with the existing models but with superior solutions, MBS stated.
According to him, the city is already underway, and the completion of the first phase is scheduled to coincide with the realization of Vision 2030.
He described how the project was going, “The models are finished, and they are working to implement them.”
Since the project’s announcement in 2017, promoters have claimed that the $500 billion future megacity will be 33 times larger than New York City.
