Netanyahu warns Israel may strike Iran again

Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has warned that Israel is prepared to launch another military operation against Iran if it believes the country’s nuclear activities pose a threat.

Speaking in an interview with an Israeli television channel, Netanyahu said Israel would take all necessary measures to ensure that Iran never acquires nuclear weapons. His remarks come at a sensitive time, as a new memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the United States and Iran has entered into force. The agreement, which became effective on June 18, was reportedly facilitated through Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts. It carries electronic signatures from Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and U.S. President Donald Trump.

The MoU establishes a framework for reducing tensions between Washington and Tehran and encourages both sides to resolve their remaining disputes through negotiations rather than confrontation. It addresses several key issues, including maintaining a ceasefire, easing certain sanctions, managing Iran’s nuclear program, restoring stability in the Strait of Hormuz, and strengthening broader regional security.

Israel has repeatedly voiced strong opposition to any agreement that it believes could allow Iran to preserve or expand its nuclear capabilities. Israeli officials have consistently argued that diplomatic arrangements must prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons, and they have warned that Israel remains ready to take military action if it considers its national security at risk.

Netanyahu’s latest statement highlights the continuing divisions over how to address Iran’s nuclear program, even as diplomatic efforts seek to reduce tensions and promote long-term stability in the region.
