Iran’s Intelligence Ministry has confirmed the arrest of nine Europeans, accusing them of involvement in the protests sparked by Mahsa Amini’s death.

The nine unidentified people were detained “during the riots or while plotting in the background”, the Intelligence Ministry said in a statement carried by Reuters.

Earlier, Iran alleged its “foreign enemies” for the protests and causing unrest in Iran, as per the report.

Iran’s detention of nationals from Germany, Poland, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Sweden, and other countries will heat relations between the Islamic state and European states.

Till now almost 83 people have lost their lives during demonstrations in Iran.

Raisi administration’s crackdown against women-led protests has caused a lot of injuries as well.

People have protested with slogans like “death to the dictator” and “women’s freedom” to show their anger at the death of Mahsa Amini who died in custody after allegedly being tortured by morality police.
