Caretaker Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti has said that the state is collecting evidence related to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on its own after the May 9 tragedy, no camera has been installed on the washroom in front of the Chairman PTI cell while Imran Khan is not arrested in the cipher case.
Sarfraz Bugti quoted Imran Khan as saying that the court will decide whether the PTI chairman is an accused or a criminal.
Sarfraz Bugti said, “The May 9 attack was an organized conspiracy, the state is collecting evidence related to PTI on May 9 on its own, FIA and other institutions work on their own.”
He said that Pakistan’s spectacle was made all over the world regarding cipher, “Chairman PTI is not arrested in the cipher case, and Imran Khan has been kept in Attock Jail due to security concerns.”
Regarding the installation of cameras in Attock Jail and especially where Imran Khan is kept, Sarfraz Bugti said that more than 4,000 CCTV cameras have been installed in jails across Punjab. The Punjab government has arranged toilets for the PTI chairman, “There is no camera in front of the washroom of his cell”.
The caretaker interior minister further said that the PTI chairman has been given all the facilities in the jail, he has also been given books to read, the meeting of lawyers can be reduced but the meeting has not been forbidden.
Regarding the upcoming general elections, he said that it is the job of the Election Commission to give the date; this mandate has been given to it by the Parliament of Pakistan.
He further said that delimitation is necessary at this time, elections should be held after delimitation, elections will not be held until the issue of delimitation is resolved, and it seems that general elections will be held in 7 or 8 months.
