No one can stop tabling of no-trust motion in parliament: Shehbaz Sharif

PML-N President says NAB failed to prove anything against him

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President and Opposition Leader in National Assembly (NA) Shehbaz Sharif said no one could stop the opposition from tabling a no-confidence motion against the government.

Speaking at a presser, Sharif said that bringing the motion forth in parliament was the opposition’s right given to them by the constitution. He said the no-trust motion was the voice of the nation.

He also said that the National Accountability Bureau had failed to prove anything against him adding that the NAB lawyers did not attend court hearings nor did they respond. He assailed the government saying that it was trying to humiliate him in front of the nation.

He said NAB had summoned him in the ‘Saaf Paani’ case but had arrested him in the ‘Ashiana Housing’ scandal. Sharif elaborated that the accountability watchdog had alleged him of corruption worth billions in the ‘Saaf Paani’ project.

The opposition leader said that the court had acquitted all accused in the case alleging that the authorities had offered people to bring forth false evidences. Sharif said he was innocent as even the investigation agencies in the United Kingdom had acquitted him in all cases.
