No talks underway with government yet, says PTI Chief Barrister Gohar

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar has clarified that no formal negotiations are currently taking place with the government on any platform.

Speaking to journalists at the Parliament House, he said the party has welcomed the Prime Minister’s invitation for dialogue. However, he emphasized that meaningful negotiations require proper engagement and structured discussions, which have not begun yet.

Barrister Gohar stressed that while PTI does desire dialogue, there has been no contact or communication with the government at any level so far. He added that negotiations are a serious process that cannot happen without both sides sitting together in an appropriate setting.

He further stated that as long as supporters remain with the party’s founding leader, he cannot be sidelined from the political process, suggesting that a viable solution must be found through dialogue.

The PTI chairman also expressed strong opposition to the practice of sending political leaders to jail, saying that political competition should be based on performance rather than imprisonment. He urged that the founding leader be allowed a family meeting tomorrow, calling it a basic humanitarian request.
