OIC condemns Imran Khan’s assassination attempt

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation has strongly condemned the assassination attempt of Pakistan’s former Premier and Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan.

The incident happened on Thursday when an assailant Naveed opened fire on Imran Khan’s container during a long march rally at Wazirabad leaving Khan and other PTI members wounded, one man died on the spot.

In a statement, OIC strongly denounced the attempted murder and said all forms of extremism and terrorism should be punished.

In a statement on Twitter OIC stated, “The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) expressed its strong condemnation of the assassination attempt today on Imran Khan, Former Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.”

It further added that OIC stands with the Islamic Republic of Pakistan against any threat to its security and stability and extends to it
and its people wishes for peace and prosperity.

The nation’s political elite and people all across the world immediately condemned the attack on the former prime minister.

Among those who have condemned is US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, former president Asif Ali Zardari, FM, and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
