Pakistan renowned star pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi revealed on Sunday that he had an appendectomy.

Shaheen tweeted about the procedure and his recovery to let his fans know. “Had an appendectomy today but Alhumdulillah, feeling better remember me in your prayers.”

According to the Pakistan Cricket Board on November 14, Shaheen had previously been given a two-week rehabilitation recommendation.

The tall bowler fell awkwardly when scooping Harry Brook’s catch during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 final match on Sunday in Melbourne.

The PCB announced on Monday that the scan performed on Monday morning before the team’s departure for Pakistan had revealed no symptoms of an injury and that the knee discomfort was probably caused by a forced knee flexion upon landing.

It was comforting to learn that there was no injury after the scans were discussed by PCB’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Najeebullah Soomro, and an Australian knee expert, Dr. Peter D’Alessandro.

The left-arm fast bowler is feeling better and has a positive attitude, the statement continued.

It should be mentioned that the three-match Test series against England on home soil, which begins on December 1, is Pakistan’s next international duty.
