Pak vs NZ: Pakistan all-out on 438 in first innings

Pakistan was bowled out on Tuesday after scoring 438 against New Zealand in the first innings of the opening Test match at the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi.

Right-handed hitter Agha Salman smashed a ton—his first Test century—to assist his team to establish a good position After Babar Azam and Sarfaraz Ahmed’s knocks.

The Pakistani captain left the field early without adding to his overnight total after reaching 161(280) runs in the opening session of the second day.

The final man out was century-maker Salman, who was caught LBW off Tim Southee at 103.

Earlier, Babar Azam was batting at 161 as Pakistan overcame a shaky start to amass 317-5 at the end of day one on Monday.

After New Zealand failed to capitalize on a promising start with the ball, Babar rode his luck in a 277-ball innings that featured 15 fours and a stunning six to reach his century. Agha Salman remained unbeaten on three at the stumps.

Pakistan is attempting to recover from a collapse that included a 3-0 home series defeat against England in the two-test series against the blackcaps.
