Pakistan agrees to pay Google

The Finance Ministry has accepted the suggestion of Information Technology Minister Aminul Haq and has agreed to pay Google.

Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Finance Tariq Bajwa contacted Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Amin-ul Haq and discussed the issue of payments to Google.

IT minister Amin-ul Haq urged the SAPM to make payments as per schedule in order to prevent the closure of Google apps in Pakistan.

Amin-ul-Haq, the federal minister, added that the State Bank has been told to postpone enforcing the policy for a month.

On the other hand, telecom operators had also been given a month to put the payment process in place.

He further added that in one month, the Ministry of IT along with the Ministry of Finance will make an action plan in consultation with the State Bank.
