Minister for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Abdul Qadir Patel gave the Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) instructions to make preparations for young prisoners to be admitted to medical and dental colleges during the next admissions test on Friday.

According to a statement from the government, such offenders would also be permitted to enroll in nursing, allied health sciences, MBBS, and other academic programs of their choice.

He also said that all public medical schools and healthcare organizations are required to admit aspirant inmates who are incarcerated because it is their fundamental right to an education. He claimed that the PMC has been given instructions in this regard.

According to him, the goal was to respect the rights of the convicts and give them access to equal educational opportunities so they could contribute positively to society.

The minister claimed that without advancement in the fields of education and health, no development was feasible. The current administration, he continued, fully reflects the preferences of the general public.

He said that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) was dedicated to helping the public by making sure that they had access to free healthcare, free education, and necessities like food and shelter.

The fundamental goal of PPP is the improvement of the people of the nation, he added.
