Pakistan Army leaves for Qatar to perform security duties at FIFA World Cup

Another milestone for the Pakistan army as the army troops have departed to Qatar to perform security duties at the FIFA World Cup 2022.

The troops consisting of officers, junior commissioned officers and soldiers have departed from Nur Khan Air Base on Monday morning.

Pakistan army will provide security support and assistance during the FIFA World Cup 2022 which is to be held in Qatar.

An eight-member FIFA training team visited Pakistan in September to look for the security protocols of the Pakistan army. The delegation had imparted training on FIFA security to the selected contingents of the Pakistan army.

According to reports, the Qatar government had requested Pakistan to provide security assistance during the FIFA World Cup 2022 and four delegations of the Qatari ministry visited Pakistan in August in this regard.

Football is the most famous sport and FIFA World Cup is one of the most watched tournaments across the globe. The FIFA World Cup 2022 is all set to show its full colours in Qatar and the matches will be viewed by Football fans in the newly built stadiums of Qatar.

According to media reports, the budget of FIFA World Cup 2022 has exceeded more than ten times of the previous world cups. Qatar government has made sure that it would provide every facility to the players and fans.

Qatar had asked for the services of the Pakistan army for the provision of a secure environment during the international event.
