Pakistan Day 2023: President Alvi presents civil honors

In honor of Pakistan Day 2023, President Dr. Arif Alvi presented civil honors on Thursday.

President Dr. Arif Alvi presented 135 Pakistanis and foreigners with civic honors in honor of their brilliance and valor in their various disciplines.

There were nine Presidential Pride of Performance Awards, 35 Tamgha-e-Imtiaz Awards, 21 Hilal-e-Imtiaz Awards, 30 Sitara-e-Imtiaz Awards, 8 Sitara-e-Imtiaz Awards, 1 Hilal-e-Pakistan Awards, 1 Hilal-e-Quaid-e-Azam Awards, and 1 Tamgha-e-Khidmat Awards among them.

Sartaj Aziz, a former foreign minister, the late Mir Hasil Khan Bizenjo, a former senator, the late Justice Bhagwan Das, the late Ahmed Ghulam Ali Chagla, the late Sufi poet Ghulam Mustafa Tabassum, the late actor Muhammad Qavi Khan, and squash players Jahangir Khan and Jan Sher Khan were all recipients of the Nishan-e-Imtiaz.

The Presidential Pride of Performance awards were given to acclaimed actors Anjum Shaheen and Taskeen Zafar, two prominent newsreaders for Radio Pakistan.

Tamgha-e-Imtiaz awards were given to Pakistani diplomat Saima Saleem, Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori, and captain of the women’s cricket team, Bisma Maroof.

Saghar Siddiqui, a well-known poet, and TV anchor Fakhar e Alam both got the Sitara-e-Imtiaz.

Hilal-e-Imtiaz was given to the violinist Raees Ahmed, the poet Amjad Islam Amjad, the journalist Mujeeb ur Rehman Shami, the philanthropist Muhammad Ramzan Cheepa, and the author Bilquis Bano Edhi.

The honorees’ names were revealed on August 14, 2022, the 75th anniversary (Diamond Jubilee) of Pakistan’s founding. The authorities received praise for their outstanding performance and bravery in their respective sectors.
