Pakistan has asked India to investigate the custodial death of Kashmiri leader Altaf Ahmed Shah and hold the responsible to account.
Foreign Office spokesperson has said that the inhuman custodial death of Hurriyat leader Altaf Ahmed Shah was deeply saddening.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs also summoned the Indian Charge’d Affairs in Islamabad to convey a strong protest on behalf of Pakistan over the death in the infamous Tihar jail. FO spokesperson also told that it was conveyed that the death was caused by willful and deliberate negligence of the Indian government and it was utter disregard of human rights.
He said that Pakistan has strongly condemned the extrajudicial killings of two more Kashmiris by occupation forces in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). He stated that during the recent Hindu festivals the incidents of hostility by Hindutva extremists against Muslims were a matter of grave concern.
FO spokesperson also said, “This is yet another manifestation of the growing ‘saffron terror’ that has deeply permeated the Indian society.” He further added that the international community must hold India accountable for its crimes in IIOJK. He said that the rapidly deteriorating situation of Islamophobia in India demanded notice from the international community.
He also said that the remarks of the Indian Prime Minister about IIOJK during a public rally have been rejected by the Pakistani government.
