Pakistan is not willing to negotiate with TTP, says Hina Rabbani Khar

Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar has said that evidence of involvement of Afghan nationals in terrorism has been given to the Afghan government, and Pakistan is not willing to negotiate with the banned TTP. The minister said that Afghans cannot come to Pakistan without visa and passport.

Federal Minister Hina Rabbani Khar said that fencing on the Pak-Afghan border is very important, biometrics of those coming from Afghanistan are taken, peace is talked about when there is hope for peace.

Hina Rabbani Khar said that Pakistan has made a lot of efforts for peace in the region, and terrorism has affected Pakistan the most. She said that Pakistan had tried peace talks but there was no result.

Talking about the banned TTP, the federal minister said that there is no doubt that the TTP is present in Afghanistan, we have been stuck with the banned TTP many times, we do not want to negotiate with the TTP, the banned TTP is not in a position to make any demand.

She further said that there can be no compromise on the safety of the people, it was the decision of the Foreign Office to make a statement in favor of Afghan women.

Hina Rabbani Khar said that Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto’s statement was presented out of context.

The Minister of State further said that Afghan nationals will have to come to Pakistan with a visa, Pakistan has not given refugee status to any Afghan at present.

She also said that evidence of involvement of Afghan nationals in terrorism has been given to the Afghan government, an Afghan resident came to Pakistan on a medical visa and was found involved in terrorism.
