Pakistan thrash Bangladesh 6-2 to reach semis

Pakistan defeated Bangladesh 6 -2 on Sunday to advance to the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy semi-finals. In the last group match of the Asian Champions Trophy in Dhaka, Bangladesh outplayed Pakistan in the first quarter and even grabbed a one-goal lead in the 13th minute, but Pakistan’s Nadeem Ahmed equalised in the very next minute.

Pakistan launched multiple-goal attacks in the second quarter, scoring three goals in a succession. The Pakistani side continued to press and scored more goals in the third quarter, while the host team managed to score a goal. Pakistan, on the other hand, won the match 2-6 at the end of the stipulated time and advanced to the semi-finals. Pakistan’s Nadeem Ahmed and Ijaz Ahmed both scored two goals. On Tuesday, Pakistan will play South Korea in the semi-finals, while India and Japan will compete in the other semi-final.
