Pakistan to deploy Rangers for Asia Cup 2023 security

Federal cabinet has given the go-ahead for the Pakistan Army and Punjab Rangers to be deployed in order to provide foolproof security for the Asia Cup 2023.

According to the reports, the Punjab caretaker government had asked for the army and Rangers to be deployed, and the Ministry of Interior had sent a report in this regard that the cabinet had authorized via distribution.

Beginning on August 30 with a game between Pakistan and Nepal in Multan, the eagerly awaited Asia Cup 2023 will be played in Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

The information further stated that from August 27 to September 6, the army and Punjab Rangers would be deployed.

“The Punjab Rangers will be deployed in the second tier Quick Reaction Forces (QRFs), while the Pakistan Army deployment will be in the third tier QRF mode,” they continued.

They also mentioned the availability of special forces for security.

It should be kept in mind that the nation will host four Asia Cup games between August 30 and September 6. The first of these will happen in Multan; the other three will happen in Lahore at the Gaddafi Stadium.
