ISLAMABAD, June 08, 2026 — Pakistan has reiterated its commitment to strengthening cultural, media, and creative ties with Uzbekistan, aiming to give new momentum to bilateral relations in the fields of film, journalism, and digital content.

This was stated by Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar during a meeting with Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Alisher Tukhtaev in Islamabad.

Both sides held detailed discussions on expanding cooperation in media production, film-making, and cultural exchange programs. The talks focused on joint initiatives in short films, documentaries, and drama series, with an emphasis on showcasing the shared history and cultural heritage of both nations.

Attaullah Tarar said Pakistan greatly values its relations with Uzbekistan and is keen to broaden collaboration across diverse sectors, particularly creative industries. He noted that experienced production houses would play a key role in ensuring the success of joint media projects.

He also highlighted the possibility of large-scale co-production ventures supported through joint funding mechanisms, saying such efforts could help strengthen cultural diplomacy between the two countries.

The minister further stressed the importance of institutional linkages between media organizations, suggesting exchange visits of journalists as a means to enhance mutual understanding and professional cooperation.

Both sides also agreed to promote collaboration between social media teams and develop joint digital content strategies to highlight cultural and historical connections.
