The community forums of Pakistani expats ‘Mein Hun Pakistani’ and ‘Pak Friends Austria’ organized a rally in Vienna, Austria, to show support for Kashmiris and draw attention to human rights abuses in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

On Saturday, the protest was held at Vienna International Centre, where the United Nations offices in Austria’s capital are located.

The protest was planned expressly to remind the world community of UN resolutions and commitments to address the Kashmir problem on the eve of the 77th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session at the UN headquarters in New York, US.

Pakistani expats gathered in support of Kashmiris’ rights and to draw attention to Pakistan’s flood disaster.

President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, while addressing the special gathering, urged the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the United Nations to help Kashmiris.

Chaudhry stated that the Kashmir conflict was one of the oldest issues still on the UN agenda.

He claimed that the major reason the problem has persisted for the past 75 years is India’s ongoing refusal to provide the people of Jammu and Kashmir the right to self-determination.
