Shae Gill, the Pakistani singer known for her record-breaking song “Pasoori” with Ali Sethi and her recent collaboration with Asim Azhar on “Bulleya,” is now teaming up with Turkish singer Evdeki Saat for a new song called “One Love” for Coke Studio Global season 2.
Evdeki Saat gained popularity in the alternative pop scene with his song “Uzunlar V1,” which has amassed over 120 million streams on Spotify since its release in 2020.
Expressing his excitement about the collaboration, Saat said that being part of Coke Studio as a musician is always thrilling. He found the idea of a global collaboration intriguing and enjoyed the challenging process of creating the song with Shae Gill. He also praised Gill as a talented representative of her culture and a great musician and personality.
Gill, who made her debut in Coke Studio Pakistan in 2022 with the hit song “Pasoori,” mentioned that the inspiration for “One Love” revolves around themes of romance, new love, and expressing love openly. She expressed her pleasure in collaborating with Saat, emphasizing his gifted nature and kind personality. Gill felt that they connected well musically, which made the collaboration even more exciting.
“Pasoori” holds the title of the most streamed Pakistani song on Spotify and reached #1 on the global viral chart. Its music video has garnered nearly 600 million views on YouTube.
“One Love” is part of a series of nine new collision songs and exclusive sessions featuring various artists that will be released on all music platforms in June and July. This release follows the Coke Studio anthem “Be Who You Are,” performed by Grammy-award-winning musician Jon Batiste and featuring NewJeans, JID, Camilo, and Cat Burns.
In addition to “One Love,” other releases include a new version of Imagine Dragons’ “Symphony,” created in collaboration with the Inner-City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles, as well as a collision between K-pop stars NewJeans and Atlanta rapper JID titled “Zero.”
Coke Studio Global season 2 brings together sixteen breakthrough music artists from different countries, including Diljit Dosanjh, Shreya Ghoshal, Jessie Reyez, and Nasty C, among others.
