As Pakistan prepares for the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023 in India, selectors face tough decisions in shaping the 15-member squad. Following a disappointing exit from the Asia Cup 2023, team combinations are under careful scrutiny.

Recent performances raise doubts about the inclusion of Mohammad Haris, Usama Mir, Mohammad Wasim Jnr, and Faheem Asraf in the World Cup squad. However, there’s a strong likelihood of adding right-arm medium pacer Hassan Ali and right-arm leg-break spinner Abrar Ahmed.

Despite concerns about the form of opener Fakhar Zaman and vice-captain Shadab Khan, both are expected to secure spots on the team.

Imad Wasim’s selection is also under discussion, with his extensive experience in international cricket and a track record of performing in high-pressure tournaments like the World Cup.

Here’s the probable 15-member squad for Pakistan in the World Cup 2023:

Babar Azam (C)
Imam-ul-Haq
Fakhar Zaman
Abdullah Shafiq
Salman Ali Agha
Iftikhar Ahmed
Saud Shakeel
Mohammad Rizwan (wk)
Mohammad Nawaz/Imad Wasim
Shadab Khan
Shaheen Shah Afridi
Haris Rauf
Hassan Ali
Zaman Khan
The ICC Cricket World Cup is set to kick off on October 5th, with Pakistan’s first match against the Netherlands scheduled for October 6th.
