Arshad Nadeem arrived in Pakistan after winning gold medals in the javelin throw events at the Commonwealth Games and the Islamic Solidarity Games.

On Tuesday, Arshad received a heroic welcome at the airport from fans, family members, friends, and the Pakistan Sports Board staff.

Arshad, while talking to the media, said that the prayers of the Pakistani people were the reason he was able to win gold medals. Winning two medals for Pakistan was an honor, he added.

Arshad expressed his desire that Pakistani athletes should have the same facilities as athletes from other countries. He emphasized that if Pakistani sportsmen were given resources, they could win gold in more competitions.

He also asked the government to provide an additional venue for the Olympic preparations of athletes.

Arshad, with a throw of 90.18 meters, won the gold and became the first Pakistani to hold the Commonwealth Games record.

Arshad Nadeem won the gold medal on August 12 at the Islamic Solidarity Games in Konya, Turkey with a throw of 88.55 meters.

Arshad has won four international gold medals all during his career. He also took home gold in the 2019 South Asian Games and the 2021 Imam Reza Athletics Championship.
