In a surprising turn of events, the jersey of the Indian cricket team, prepared for the Asia Cup, bears the name ‘Pakistan’ on it, sparking discussions on social media.

A viral image shows Indian captain Rohit Sharma and former captain Virat Kohli wearing the new jersey, clearly displaying the name of the host country Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023.

It’s important to note that this news hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, but there is a possibility that the Indian team might wear jerseys with Pakistan’s name during the matches.

As per reports, all participating teams must have the host country’s name along with the Asia Cup logo on their jerseys. Therefore, it is plausible that Pakistan’s name is included on the Indian team’s jersey as well.

Speaking of the Pakistan-India clash in the Asia Cup, both teams are scheduled to face each other on September 2nd at the International Cricket Stadium in Sri Lanka.

In a recent event held on August 11, 2023, jerseys for all teams participating in the Asia Cup were revealed. These jerseys featured the logo of the Asia Cup along with the host country’s name. The Asia Cup 2023 is set to commence on August 30 with a match between Pakistan and Nepal at Multan Stadium.

A few weeks ago, there were speculations about the Indian team traveling to Pakistan for the event. However, due to existing tensions, it was clarified that the Indian team would play their matches at a neutral venue, which is Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka has been chosen as the co-host alongside Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023.
