Parvez Elahi’s Punjab Assembly staff taken back

Muhammad Khan Bhatti and Rai Mumtaz Babar have been suspended, notification issued

The staff of the Punjab Assembly has been taken back from the former Punjab chief minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi.

According to sources, 60 employees including security personnel, drivers and cooks were among the staff withdrawn from Parvez Elahi.

Ex-secretary Muhammad Khan Bhatti suspended:

On the other hand, Muhammad Khan Bhatti, who was secretary assembly during the tenure of Parvez Elahi as Speaker Punjab Assembly, has also been suspended, and the notification has also been issued.

According to sources, Muhammad Khan Bhatti has been suspended on the recommendation of the anti-corruption establishment, he is accused of corruption as secretary of Parvez Elahi while he is currently in the custody of anti-corruption.

According to the notification, Rai Mumtaz Babar, director general parliamentary affairs of the Punjab Assembly, has been sacked along with Muhammad Khan Bhatti, who was appointed dg parliamentary affairs during the tenure of Pervaiz Elahi.
