Pakistani cricketer Shahnawaz Dahani is likely to face repercussions from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for his criticism of the media and the selection committee.
According to media reports, the PCB legal team will decide what steps to take against the fast bowler who raised concerns about journalists.
Dahani questioned Rashid Latif’s removal of him from the list of Pakistani pacers yesterday and expressed unhappiness at not being taken into consideration by selectors.
In response to the list, Dahani expressed his anger at not being included in the former cricketer’s statistical comparison of Pakistani List-A pacers.
After former pacer Aaqib Javed rated Zaman Khan as a better fast bowler than Naseem Shah, which garnered harsh criticism, the dispute broke out in the media.
Rashid responded by pointing out the stats of prominent bowlers like Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, Wasim Jr., Faheem Ashraf, and Zaman Khan.
The 25-year-old pacer expressed his worries about the bowlers’ list on Twitter and questioned whether his achievements had gone unrecognized.
Dahani highlighted his incredible record of 56 wickets in just 31 matches with a stunning average of 24.35 and an amazing economy rate of 5.65 in List A cricket.
The right-arm pacer eventually removed the tweet he had sent in response to Rashid Latif’s list of bowlers.
