PM ignored Karachi’s problems: Shehbaz in meeting with PTI-ally MQM-P

PML-N hopeful that MQM-P will take decision which favours public

Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday in his meeting with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-ally Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) assailed Prime Minister Imran Khan, accusing him of ignoring Karachi’s problems.

Addressing a presser alongside MQM-P Deputy Convenor Amir Khan and other party members, Sharif said that the premier was only fixated on the opposition and was ignoring the peoples’ problems. He said that additional taxes and rising inflation were making life difficult for the masses.

Remembering the tenure of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Sharif said that the former prime minister initiated projects worth billions for Karachi. He said he had urged the MQM-P leaders to think about Pakistan before their alliance with the PTI-led government.

For his part, MQM-P leader Amir Khan said that the people wanted the government dismissed as soon as possible. He said that issues should be resolved via dialogue. Khan further stated that the two parties had agreed to work with each other for the betterment of the nation.

Speaking regarding the no-confidence motion, he said the matter should first be finalized by the opposition. He added that the party would take a decision for the betterment of the public.
