PM requests Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui to not contest in by-elections

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has requested the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (Pakistan) not to participate in the by-elections.

As per media reports, Shahbaz Sharif contacted Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui over the telephone and requested him not to participate in the by-elections.

MQM leader Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui told the Prime Minister that there was a difference in the political situation between Karachi and Punjab and same policy might not work in both provinces.

“MQM has already boycotted the local body elections,” Khalid revealed.

According to reports, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui assured Prime Minister to let him know the decision after the opinion of the Coordination Committee.

Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui also guaranteed the Prime Minister to convene a consultative meeting of the Coordination Committee as soon as possible.
